WRITTEN BY: BEVERLY HOLMAN SPARKS
We, The Trinity Heirs, based out of Richmond, Kentucky, accepted the call to this gospel music ministry in 1990. We are a group of Southern Gospel Music Artists & Songwriters. The original trio included my husband, Ronnie Sparks; myself, Beverly Holman Sparks; and my brother, Dale Holman. In the early years of the ministry other members came aboard to help with sound support and live music but after we made the change to professionally recorded soundtracks we eventually continued with only the original trio.
A few years later, Dale left the group for a short time due to a work injury and other health problems. Ronnie and I continued to sing as a duet and our son, Brian Sparks, who had always traveled with us, started singing as a soloist. The original trio came back together again for a few more years but in 2006 Dale made the decision to leave the ministry again. He had accepted the call to preach and felt it was necessary for him to leave so he could better manage his schedule and his ongoing health concerns. During Dale's last years with the group, we recorded two projects with The Eddie Crook Company on the MorningStar record label, titled "Moments Of Grace" and "Journey Of Faith". Dale is now the pastor of Living Waters Sanctuary church in Berea, KY. Dale is a wonderful Christian man, great vocalist, and awesome songwriter. He was a dedicated member of the group and has been greatly missed!
As we traveled on again as a duet after Dale's departure, we recorded two additional projects, independently, titled, "Not Finished Yet!" and "Still Standing". These were recorded by Dan Ward at Hitmaker Recording Studios, Wheelersburg, Ohio. John Darin Rowsey, formerly of Karen Peck and New River, was our vocal producer and he also contributed some background vocals for those projects.
The current members are Ronnie Sparks; myself, Beverly Holman Sparks; our son, Brian Sparks; Danny Smith; and his wife, Barbara Smith. Danny and Barbara live in Nicholasville, KY and they have two sons, Eric Smith and Ryan Smith.
At the close of 2013, after much thought and prayer, exciting things began to unfold as Danny and Barbara officially joined the ministry of The Trinity Heirs. Barbara, who has been using her beautiful voice to sing for the Lord for many years, teamed up with us to form a trio once again. Danny, who has been a sound technician for many years, also came aboard to run the sound for us. We are very humbled and honored that they are now official members of The Trinity Heirs.
Brian still travels with the group and is an important part of our ministry. Many folks are blessed as he sings and we share the testimony of his life with cerebral palsy and how God has helped him on his incredible journey.
OUR SONGWRITNG AND STYLE
Songwriting has always played an important part of our ministry as also evidenced in our previous recording, "Still Standing - A 20th Anniversary Celebration!" of which all thirteen songs were written by the group. God has inspired and blessed us to write and record over 55 songs. This CD includes, “Lord, It Was You” (You helped me walk every mile), a testimony song which Brian sings; “He Came Out Alive”, which features Brian’s first-time recorded songwriting efforts, (co-written with Beverly); “Pray Like You’ll Never Say Amen”, “Tell Someone”, and "God's Coat of Protection", are some of our previous radio releases. “I Will Carry On Without You” is a very touching song that was actually inspired by the passing of my (Beverly’s) mother and our family pet. Several other songs we have written have often been inspired by our day-to-day joys and struggles of life during our ministry journey which now spans over 25 years. Our style is probably best described as southern gospel with some blending of other styles such as country gospel and bluegrass gospel. Brian usually brings variety to our recordings and song services by blending in some light contemporary.
While we have enjoyed singing on cruises, a flight to sing at a church in California, singing on promotional showcases, radio tours, television programs, previous recordings with a major record label (The Eddie Crook Co./MorningStar Records) and having some songs to chart, our most exciting and rewarding experiences have been those in which souls were saved, touched or helped by God working through us in this ministry. Our calling and goal remains to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through songs and testimonies; pointing the lost to Jesus and bringing encouragement to the body of Christ, all for the glory of God. It’s all about Him! We welcome any opportunities to exalt the name of Jesus and advance the kingdom of God.
